Williamstown artist John MacDonald will be at The Harrison Gallery for a special event this Sunday, March 4. From 1:00 until 2:00 John will take us through his journey of creation, demonstrating his unique digital woodcut technique.
A favorite among collectors and visitors alike, Williamstown artist John MacDonald transforms local scenes into highly recognized woodblock designs. John combines his extensive training as a painter with modern tools of computer technology in an involved technical process. John will be candidly explaining his initial inspirations for composition, his ability to create raw black and white gouache drawings, and his digital transference of color and texture to his pieces. These digital woodcuts are strong representations of John’s love of the Berkshire landscape and his appreciation of traditional Japanese woodcuts.
After a stunning December show, The Harrison Gallery welcomes everyone back to partake in this special opportunity to spend an afternoon with John MacDonald.
